Plus, you can pick and choose specific files to restore as needed or even an entire drive volume. This NTI Backup NOW is designed for Windows-based systems from Windows 95 through Windows XP. A Vista version is in the works.

If you can follow prompts, then you can use NTI Backup NOW. The interface is reminiscent of most Windows-based programs so it is easy to maneuver and find things. A local drive can be chosen to backup your files to or you can choose multiple destinations should several backup destinations be located on your system like two different CD/DVD burners. This handy feature makes an NTI drive backup easy to do.

The current NTI Backup Now Deluxe 4 version as well as some earlier versions all allowed you to schedule your backups to run at a specific time. This NTI Backup NOW versions also supported different media such as zip drives and those portable USB flash drives. Another positive aspect to this software is that can pick and choose where you want to restore your files from backup. You don’t have to pick the exact location as before; another location is possible. There are a few NTI Backup NOW problems; however most can be solved by taking advantage of their tech support. One such problem was briefly mentioned above. If you are backing up across a LAN, it’s not a simple matter of choosing a drive and then clicking “go.” You have to map a network drive first and then choose that drive before backing up. Luckily, tech support can walk you through it if necessary.

Overall, NTI Backup NOW is user friendly and worked on a variety of computer systems. Testing the backup procedure on several methods such as another internal drive or external means like a CD/DVD burner or even a flash drive, you will notice that the internal drive goes a lot quicker each and every time.
